Development Projects

Frequently, LCA officials receive questions about the flurry of activity at Pike and Rose (old Mid-Pike Plaza) and White Flint Mall. All of the development you see happening (and much more that has not yet started construction), is part of the redevelopment in the White Flint Sector Plan.

The best way to keep up with “what’s happening where” is to visit the Montgomery County Park and Planning Commission’s website. This site presents sketch plans for all approved development, as well as the latest news on activity in the area. To get a sense of what is approved but not-yet built, scroll down and click on “White Flint Staging”.

The latest County budget allocated funds to resume planning for the White Flint 2 Sector Plan. A portion of White Flint 2 boundaries directly border our neighborhood – backing Neilwood Drive, Green Acres School, Danville Court, etc. While there are no current recommendations for access or boundary changes, we must remain engaged throughout what will be a multi-year process, in order to ensure our community’s concerns and needs are addressed. Sector Plans are guidelines that govern activity for decades, so it is imperative for LCA to be part of the dialogue from the beginning. To get involved, send an email to Development@luxmanor.org.
